PROVENANCE: The basic model is ‘Antique’, sometimes named ‘Egyptian’, but occasionally misnamed as a ‘Clarendon’. The form is ‘Compressed’ or ‘Elongated’. Most manufacturers had variations of this model, which had its origin around 1843.
