PROVENANCE: This is ‘Eboracum’, named after the Roman settlement that eventually became the City of York, England. Cut by Robert DeLittle in 1926, it seems to be a rival design to the popular ‘Gayton’ of 1924, but with an individuality seen in many of DeLittle’s fonts. There is also a nuance to the ascenders of b and d which speak of the influence of Robert Blake Poynder who designed other types for DeLittle at this time.
INCLUDED: 52 individual high-resolution JPG images, featuring two distinct variations of each letter of the alphabet. The first presents a fuller, densely inked print, while the second features a lighter press with uneven pressure, creating a more distressed and characterful appearance. Find out more
