PROVENANCE: Enchorial Extended is a variant of ('Enchorial') with the introduction of an extended tail. Originally designed in metal in 1883, Enchorial was manufactured in wood a year later in 1884 by H W Caslon & Co. The name 'Enchorial' was taken from the ancient hieroglyphics that presented an appearance in colour and curved lines. It was promptly exchanged with an American Series called 'Mural' from the Boston Type Foundry who named it 'London' for their home market (a once common commercial practice).

INCLUDED: This an extension set to its original ('Enchorial') and comes with the letters as outlined in the 'SPECIALCASE' description above in high-resolution JPG images, featuring two distinct variations of each letter. The first presents a fuller, densely inked print, while the second features a lighter press with uneven pressure, creating a more distressed and characterful appearance. Find out more
