PROVENANCE: Between 1904 and 1906, the Edinburgh typefounder Miller & Richard introduced a series of fonts under the name of ‘Antique’. First, an extended variant, No.15, followed by two differently-condensed versions No.16 and 17. This version, released in October 1906 (slightly predating ‘Antique No.17’) had some of the sharper nuances smoothed out and the ascenders lengthened and given the name by Miller of Lothian. NOTE: Slightly higher on the curves of the C,G etc.
INCLUDED: 52 individual high-resolution JPG images, featuring two distinct variations of each letter of the alphabet. The first presents a fuller, densely inked print, while the second features a lighter press with uneven pressure, creating a more distressed and characterful appearance. Find out more
