Lowercase Richmond Old Style Condensed
£60.00
LOWERCASE: A to Z
PROVENANCE: In 1922, The Blackfriars Type Foundry introduced ‘Richmond Old Style’ in metal. A competitive design to rival Stephenson Blake’s successful ‘Windsor’ cut earlier in 1903. Somewhat superior and more elegant than its forerunner, the basic design was later developed into a full family. This ‘Richmond Old Style Condensed’ was introduced in wood in 1928 and cut for them by Robert DeLittle of York. By 1931, when BTF went into liquidation, DeLittle inherited the patterns and became sole manufacturer of the fonts produced from them.
