PROVENANCE: First introduced by H.W Caslon in 1877 as Ornamented No.31, this font is stamped by Waterlow & Sons, a substantial London government printer from the 19th Century. This ornamented adaptation of a condensed wedge serif was in turn cut by many manufacturers of wooden type and often renamed as ‘Grecian’, ‘Old Style Grotesque’, and in America, as a ‘Concave’.

INCLUDED: 52 individual high-resolution JPG images, featuring two distinct variations of each letter of the alphabet. The first presents a fuller, densely inked print, while the second features a lighter press with uneven pressure, creating a more distressed and characterful appearance. Find out more
