PROVENANCE: This is ‘Ritmo’ circa 1960, originally designed in metal for Societa Nebiolo Torino by Aldo Novarese in 1955. Like so many original forms produced and cast at the foundry their adaptation to wood has often been one of misinterpretation. The Italian company responsible for what we see here has dispensed with the original sloping body of ‘Ritmo’ but has retained all the nuances of its form.
